Update: Pat Prescott leaving The WAVE
Radio Insight is reporting long-time morning host Pat Prescott will be leaving urban AC The Wave (KTWV) after more than two decades. Prescott started as co-host with saxophonist Dave Koz in 2001. She was later teamed with Brian McKnight and Kim Amidon.
Here's the job posting from the Audacy website:
After 21 years of hosting mornings on 94.7 The Wave in Los Angeles, Pat Prescott is relinquishing her throne. The Wave is looking for the next great morning host. The Soul of Southern California reflects diversity, inclusivity, authenticity and is tuned to the vibe and lifestyle that is uniquely SoCal. We’re looking for a natural communicator who embodies the spirit of community service and can carry on the legacy Pat created for the role.
The New York native was once a school teacher, before starting her radio career in New Orleans. She returned to New York where she was on the air in the number one market for 23 years, playing jazz at WRVR (now WLTW), R&B at WBLS, and Smooth Jazz CD 101.9 (WQCD). In addition to mornings at The Wave, Prescott is again heard in New York as she also hosts "Favorite Things" on public radio station WBGO-Newark, New Jersey which serves the metropolitan New York area.
There's no announcement when Prescott will be leaving The Wave.
More details to follow when available.
